John P. Robarts 1917  - 1982	A new Alderman was elected to London City Council in 1950 and his name was John Parmenter Robarts.  He went on to represent London North in Provincial politics, culminating his career as Premier of Ontario from 1961 to 1971. Robarts was born in Banff in 1917 but he moved to London with his family, when he was in high school.  Central Collegiate and the University of Western Ontario are proud to claim Robarts as an alumnist.
